I have been a very bad blogger! Must do better in 2009.

2008 was a busy year and apart form cards for the gang at work and a couple of commissions I really didn't do much papercraft at all - worst of all was the complete disaster that was Christmas cards - I had made them in plenty of time and then went down with flu and really couldn't manage to sit and write them all - sorry to anyone who got missed or received theirs really late.

Made two cards this week (too short timescale to take photos!) - one was a leaving card for a colleague and the other a birthday card.

The leaving card was a custom cut very tall zigzag card, with pop ups inside and patterned paper/plain paper combinations in orange and blue. Theme was Paris.

The birthday card I found harder - inspirationless! - ended up cutting out green cloud shapes, tearing a dark gold/bronze paper and making a textured 'decoupage style' tree. Decorated the card edges with peel off borders.

I haven't done much paper craft recently - relocating half way across the country and getting settled in a new job and a new home have taken their toll!

Now though I am starting to get things straightened out and the spare room provides space for a little crafting area - so watch this space.

I have been inspired by a number of other cardmakers' blogs to have a go myself and if I get organised I'd like to join in the challenges, dares and competitions which seem to be the current fashion - it truly is a great big wide world brought to a PC screen near you.
